1. What do you understand by 'power of franchise'? Think about this amongst yourselves.
Answer - In the Constitution of India, all citizens of India who are adults or are 18 years of age or older have the right to cast a secret vote. Every citizen of India elects his/her representative by exercising his/her franchise and many elected representatives together form the government. It is because of the voting rights of the citizens that the supreme power of Indian democracy lies with the people.

2. Can you think of anyone in your family, community, village or city whom you respect because they fought for justice and equality?
Answer -  We know about the village head of our village, Uday Narayan Singh. Who is the village head of Shivnagar Gram Panchayat as well as a social worker. Many times in the Gram Panchayat, when people of one caste behaved unjustly and unequally with the other caste, they used to admonish the person doing injustice. People respect him, so they quickly accept his words. In this way, due to his efforts, an atmosphere of harmony has been created among the people of the Gram Panchayat.

3. What was the issue of the struggle of 'Tawa Matsya Sangh'?
Answer - Issue of struggle of Tawa Matsya Sangh: The union demanded from the government that fishing should be allowed to continue in the dam for the livelihood of the people, which has been fishing in the area of ​​Tawa Dam since 1994. The work was handed over to private contractors.

4. Why did the villagers feel the need to form this organization?

Answer -  In 1994, the government handed over the work of fishing in the area of ​​Tawa Dam to private contractors. These contractors excluded local people from work and brought in cheap labor from outside the area. The contractors called goons and started threatening the villagers because the people were not ready to move away from there. The villagers united and decided that the time had come to fight and stand in front by forming an organization to protect their rights. In this way an organization named 'Tawa Matsya Sangh' was formed.

5. Do you think that the reason for the success of 'Tawa Matsya Sangh' was the participation of a large number of villagers? Write two lines in this regard.
Answer -  It is true that the reason for the success of 'Tawa Matsya Sangh' was the participation of a large number of villagers. The villagers showed solidarity to put pressure on the government. Rural people started Chakka Jam campaign. Seeing their resistance, the government formed a committee to review the entire matter. , The committee recommended granting fishing rights to the villagers for their livelihood.

6. What role can our Constitution play in people's struggle for equality?
Answer - The Constitution also considers all citizens of India equal. The Constitution does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of caste, religion, language, region or gender. So then people struggle for equality, constitutional law is in their favor. Whenever a case of struggle for equality goes to court. Keeping the Constitution in mind, the court gives its decision in favor of the fighters. Therefore, the Constitution plays an important role in people's struggle for equality.
